I just thought of something I wanted to share with the rest of the community! I noticed that if you combine Random Encounter, The Heist, and Strange New World together into one overarching narrative, you get a full fledged dungeon crawler! Random Encounter for fighting monsters, The Heist for evading traps, and Strange New World for environmental obstacles that are neither monsters nor traps! You can even use these for overworld travel!
I got this game for a friend with ADHD who had a major weekend crisis. I "modded" it to be two players so I was like a GM, sorting their tasks into fantastical quest language like the quests were put up in the local adventuring guild to be taken by them instead of just a list of chores.
They still drew the creatures themselves and told me and some other friends about the magic of the quests. It was such a great way to make all the chores they had to do feel less like a punishment and more like a game we were playing together!
Overall a wonderful game for bringing magic and play into daily life!
I tried it for an evening. And I love it ! I think I will try using the game every day (a thread per day maybe ?) to (re)create healthy life habits and a variable routine to cope with my issues in a productive and creative way ! I really love how it just "gamifies" life. Very cool idea.
This looks neat! I don't suppose there's a low-ink version on the horizon? The white-on-blue looks pretty, but the right panels seem a bit low-contrast for my eyes.
